Sheltie Pups For Sale!

Our 2010 litter of Shetland Sheepdog puppies are ready to go to their new homes!
They were born on March 26. We have 2 males and 2 females.
The boys both have the merle coloring.

"Badger" is full blue merle with one blue eye. He was the biggest pup at birth. His temperament is pretty laid back. He likes to eat and is the first one in the bowl when dinner is served. With his one blue eye and handsome merle coloring, he is one flashy little pup! He is the "boss" of the other puppies and they seem to look up to him. If you are looking for a puppy who will turn heads, this is your little guy! He is good looking, and he knows it! He has a very proud attitude about him.

"Skipper" has a merle tail and ears. The rest of his body is white and sable. He was the tiniest puppy in the litter. He is the favorite of our son, Nicholas. His temperment is becoming more playful. He likes to be cuddled but he is more independent than his litter mates. He is confident enough to take a nap by himself under the maple tree while the others might be huddled up together somewhere. He is the puppy who is always looking for a good wrestling match! While he may have been the "runt" of the litter at birth, he is now one of the biggest. "Skipper" will make a very devoted and energetic companion. Because of his independant nature, I would recommend him for a small family, a little boy's first dog, or a single person who is looking for a best friend.

"Asia" is very dark and gorgeous. She is mostly black with a full white collar. She would be considered a tri-color. She has beautiful, black eyes that will make you melt! "Asia" is playful and sweet. She wants to be spoiled. She also runs faster than any of the other pups and likes to show off! She is the smallest puppy as of now and my guess is that she will remain on the petite side. If I could keep any of the puppies, it would be Asia. She'll pull on your heart strings. If you are looking for a sweetheart of a pup who will make herself at home curled up at the end of your bed, she's your girl!

"Mischief" looks just like her dad, Banjo. She also has dark eyes and that knowing look of a collie. She has a full white collar and a thick coat. She'll have the more traditional collie look to her. Her name should speak for itself. She was the pup that was always crawling out of the box well before any of her siblings could figure it out. She was the pup that would wake us up crying at night because she had gone exploring in the laundry room in the middle of the night and couldn't find her way back. If something looks interesting to her, she'll figure out a way to check it out for herself. Yes, she is always getting into some mischief. Even now, she is the only puppy who can dig a hole big enough to squeeze under the garden gate. If you are looking for a devoted companion to go exploring with, Mishchief is your girl.

Our puppies were born and raised inside the house and have been handled by children on a daily basis. They have been loved and played with and cared for. They also spend a lot of time outdoors around the chickens, goats and ducks. They are comfortable around livestock and have already showed a natural instinct for herding. Mischief, in particular, is always in the barn rounding up poultry. These puppies are perfect for the hobby farm. They are being fed Nutro puppy food and goat's milk since being weaned from mom.

The pups have not seen the vet yet. We normally get the pups a vet check-up and first shots before we let them go to new homes, but I'll be honest with you...we have not had the time this spring. Time seems to have gotten away from me. If you are interested in one of our puppies, you have two options...
#1 is to pick out your puppy and place a $50.00 deposit to hold your puppy until we get the pup's shots and check-up. (We take the puppies to Dr. Catey in Angola.)
#2 is to pick up your puppy and take them to your own vet for check-up and shots. You'll save $50.oo off the price of your puppy and can take the little guy or gal home as soon as you can get here.

All of the puppies are now being sold for $175.00 or $200.00 with vet check and shots. Puppies are purebred Shetland Sheepdogs, but they are sold without papers. We encourage you to have your pup spayed or neutered before they reach six months of age. These pups have been bred as pet quality Shelties.

The pups have been wormed. I am confident that you will find the pups to be in excellent health. They have been very well cared for! Spoiled by our children and given lots of attention, they are very well socialized! They are also on the way to becoming completely crate trained. You should not have any problems getting them house-trained within a couple of short weeks. They get the first of the goat milk after morning and evening milking while it is still warm. They have had access to their mother for milk and security. They have spent lots of time in the fresh air and sunshine. What more could a puppy ask for?

These puppies are from two very intelligent Shelties. Both parents are medium sized dogs. All the pups are expected to grow into medium size animals. Banjo is our herding dog. He keeps the chickens, ducks and dairy goats within the perimeters of our 3 acre farm. He is brilliant. Patches, the mother, has one of the best temperaments of any Sheltie we've ever owned. She is on the quiet side and minds very well. Because Banjo has such a strong herding instinct, he is prone to chasing cars. You will want to watch your pup so that he or she does not develop this bad habit. We love Shelties because they make such great family dogs. They are wonderful inside and outside. They are super with children, very loving and devoted, and easy to train. Call us with any questions at (517) 369-9592 or send an email to djferrisfam@aol.com.
